Just like DEW-SCENTED or FLESHCRAWL Germany’s DISBELIEF is another good example for the fact that you really have to work your ass off when you’re out to gain attention as a German act nowadays. I don’t know on how many tours I’ve already seen those five sickos from Hessen as the opening slot, but since their “Worst Enemy” album the wheel simply started to turn… And 4 years later (with this sixth full length album) they are finally able to start a real major assault with the big businessmen from Nuclear Blast backing them up. DISBELIEF definitely managed to create a unique sound, not really compareable to anyone else anymore. I can’t discover major differences to their last 2 albums, cause it’s still pure driven heaviness, a psycho-like atmosphere, packed with pure emotions that crush all the way from depression to a pure punch into your face. Using Denmark’s new modern sound guru Tue Madsen was a wise choice to finally push this band towards a real modern vibe that could even reach a wider audience. “66Sick” consists of all of their trademarks and I guess it’s defnitely time to sent them into the higher league. Vocalist Jagger still spits his guts out, although you slightly get variation too. I can’t say that this is my fave type of style personally, but I can say that this is defintely a band that deserves attention, cause DISBELIEF do their own thing and finally can catch their piece of the cake, which is also a good thing for the scene in Germany!!! Join them in their misery… www.disbelief.de
