DISEMBODIMENT is a Canadian Death Metal band based in Sherbrooke, Québec. They’ve just released their first EP titled “Mutated Chaos” on Everlasting Spew Records. Let me call this out right now! I have an issue with this EP, how can this be just 14 and a half minutes? It is unacceptable! This is excellent old school Death Metal done right. Fans of INCANTATION, ANATOMIA and AUTOPSY will completely dig this EP. The vocals are absolutely on point, either they’re like a creaking door in a silent mansion or they’re casually spewing deep guttural hate right at you. Next comes the indomitable rhythm section which pays respects to the masters of Death Metal and still manages to add in their originality. Each makes space for the other without losing focus of the vision. In essence DISEMBODIMENT have put together a short horror film for your consideration and quite frankly they’ve managed to kick it out of the park! There are parts where the guitars are simply outrageously evil, the slow churn of strings coupled with the garbled atmosphere light up the darkest of the caves. This is a band to look out for! Everlasting Spew Records have clearly done a fantastic job here. The EP sounds fantastic, the production is just as we come to love it and doesn’t stray. Highly recommended for all fans of the genre at large. Death Metal fans in particular should not miss this. Get a copy.
