DISINCARNATE
Soul Erosion

Oh, hell yes!!!! Give me some DISINCARNATE any day of the week, you just can’t go wrong with these guys. The short-lived band had one amazing full length and one hard to find demo. For those that were not lucky enough to score the demo before it became out of print, then you got some relief when Roadrunner Records reissued the full length with added bonus tracks of the demo. It’s great to see that Vic Records has decided to release the 3-song demo by itself (along with one bonus live song). For those of you new to DISINCARNATE, the band was lead by Death Metal guitar statesman James Murphy (ex – DEATH, ex – OBITUARY) and were the talk of the town back in the day. When the band released their debut album “Dreams Of The Carrion Kind”, it was mind blowing to say the least. The music, production and overall songwriting made many waves. Sadly it would be their only release with rumors floating since that there was work on a sophomore album that never materialized. This demo gives a quick glimpse into what will end up becoming the debut album. The production on this demo is pretty solid, but not polished by any stretch of the imagination. The thunderous drumming is provided by Alex Marquez (ex – MALEVOLENT CREATION, SOLSTICE), who only appeared on this demo before vacating the throne that would later be taken up by the late Tommy Viator (R.I.P.). James Murphy unleashes his guitar skills on this album. I always felt that he was limited when he worked with other bands, but here he just kicks it to another level. Any fan of early ’90s Death Metal or fan of James Murphy should get this demo as it is part of a short legacy of a band that was ahead of the line in innovation. An excellent addition to anyone’s Death Metal collection and a great trip down memory lane of the early ’90s when Death Metal was going through a massive growth.
