The year ends as it began – with some fine Metal of Death. EXIT HUMANITY from Berlin, Germany, are presenting their first output. If my information are correct the five songs were originally released on cassette in March 2014, a classical demo tape. But do not worry if you do not have a tape deck anymore, Godeater Records decided to put out a MCD of the demo. The main songwriter Stefan was part of HARM, also from Berlin. But due to personal reasons he moved to Austria and left HARM, but after one year he felt the urgent need to write Death Metal songs again. Well, this a situation I can understand. I am not a musician but a listener and sometimes pretty open-minded, but at the end of the day, I always end up listening to Death Metal. The five tracks on "Undead Savior" impress with being plain and simple yet at the same time aggressive, dynamic and by no means boring or monotonous. The music never was meant to be technical or spiked with melodies or any other ingredients which do not fulfill the requirements of brutal Death Metal. Personally the five songs remind me of a band like BENEDICTION or GRAVE, especially the vocals sounds pretty much like Ola Lindgren and Jörgen Sandström. Interestingly the guitar riffs tend sometime pretty much into the Grindcore direction, I always waited for the next blastbeats and pig screams, frog noises, whatever. But I guess that is just because both genres have (more or less) the same roots respectively a vivid interchange. But back to EXIT HUMANITY and the " Undead Saviour" – ouput. If you like your Death Metal more basic and straightforward, support the underground by supporting EXIT HUMANITY! Last year, HARM from Berlin released their furious debut album “Cadaver Christi”. But soon after it was released, the original line-up fell apart. Guitar player Stefan (a.k.a. Moco El Muerte) took a sabbatical year and moved to Austria. But as a true Death Metal maniac, he can’t do without the elixir of life and death… It did not take long, until he had five songs in his mind. One trip home to Berlin, and he recorded these five together with drummer Jan. So here it is: the first sign of life from EXIT HUMANITY, called “Undead Savior”. Up to now, it is available on tape only, in a limited edition of 166 hand-numbered copies. In the professional printed fold-out, it says: raw Death Metal. And, yes – the fold-out doesn’t lie! It even is an understatement, for it has to read: ruthlessly killing fuckin’ raw Metal of bloody Death! The opening title track already starts off with a rude kick in the face. Simple riffing meets an irresistible Hardcore influenced beat, grooving breaks and a slow, crunching middle part – do we need more? But wait, it’s getting better. ‘If Humanity Dies’ is up next, this one deals with the final war to exterminate mankind and sounds exactly like that. A D-Beat smasher with fuckin’ heavy breaks and  great guitars, spiced with a somehow BOLT THROWEResque feeling. Just as a brutal hailstorm hit my home, ‘Figment Of Violence’ crawled out of my speakers as the perfect background music. But this song is too cool to just be in the background of damn North German weather. Oldest school Death Metal riffing hits the head, and the middle part smashes like a twelve ton hammer, accompanied by a short solo in best Hanneman / King style. And you need to hear ‘Only Darkness Remains’, a deadly groover that immediately made me bang my head with the horns in the air. Love the harmonies in the middle part and the guitars in the end! As if that were not enough, EXIT HUMANITY end the tape with ‘Plague Of The Undead’. This one is the perfect soundtrack for the zombie apocalypse I’m still waiting for. A brutal stop-and-go fucker that hits straight between the jaws, not only because of the fuckin’ groove part in the middle and the the frantic guitar harmonies in the end. Did I mention that this tape is fuckin’ great? So don’t hesitate to check this killer out at: exithumanity.bandcamp.com or www.facebook.com/pages/exit-humanity/187593994779314.
