EXIT HUMANITY
Dismembering Art

Some might remember EXIT HUMANITY who released their first EP “Undead Savior” eight years ago and received well earned reputation including an interview on these pages. After a longer hiatus, Stefan finally has a complete band together, including “full-time” singer Daniel. And with a stable line-up, slight musical changes also took place. Of course EXIT HUMANITY still is “ruthlessly killing fuckin’ raw Metal of bloody Death”, as I wrote in my review on the EP aeons ago. But on “Dismembering Art”, we also find a much more pronounced impact of D-Beat and Crust and even a decent hint on the more recent interpretation of that style of Punk which is called Neo-Crust. Especially the fantastic ‘Meatlove’ has a fuckin’ vibe of that style. Overall, EXIT HUMANITY has developed a greater variety in speed and riffing over their too long absence. Yet they are far from being some kind of progressive or even technical band. The songs still go straight in your face, jaw breaking and bone maiming. And it’s not to be taken too seriously as well, as song titles like ‘Alcoholic Deathsquad’, ‘Beer Annihilation Machine’ or ‘Fairytalefucker’ surely indicate. And zombies and other undying creatures are still present in the lyrics. But that’s cool with me, as I always need a fine soundtrack for the zombie apocalypse. And songs like ‘Wall Of The Undead’, the already mentioned ‘Meatlove’, ‘Bombsquad’ and the re-recorded ‘Figment Of Violence’ are great food for all those who like their Death Metal raw, bloody and without frills and don’t mind some more crusty D-Beats at all. Which means that “Dismembering Art” definitely is not only my cup of tea but another highlight of the year. If you dig raw and rotten Metal of Death, don’t hesitate to visit the band at www.facebook.com/exit.humanity.death.metal. For the label, visit www.teufelszeug-records.com
