Britanny, France… I think I love you. Thank you for giving birth to the vile, dirty, rotten sound of GOATSLAVE. This band came out of nowhere with their first album "Procession Of Doom". After the intro, ‘Salvation Of Desolation’ kicks you in the teeth with a full-on blast of blackened Metal just the way I like it. ‘Throne Of Hate’ continues with a charging blast of fury to make your ears melt. The blasting drums of ‘Finished By The Wolf’, the roaring beast of ‘Procession Of Doom’ with vocals that sound like they crawled from the crypt of Belial himself, the fist pumping ‘Six Sex Satan’, the building crescendo of filth in seventh track ‘Goatslave’ and the aggression-drenched ‘Kingdom Of Rats’ sum up an album of pure Metal hell. The obnoxious dialogue near the end of ‘Procession Of Doom’ is the only complaint I have, and it’s a minor distraction (and a good proof that the French language shouldn’t be used in extreme Metal, since it’s not evil sounding at all ; -) – Frank). Otherwise, the album is solid throughout. And the cover by Chris Moyen… Can he do no wrong? The blasphemy of the art is one of his best.
