Dominion Reptilian

Although HEARSE are definitely not the type of music I dig, I have to admit that their mixture of traditional Metal / Hardrock riffs with raw and dirty vocals à la newer ENTOMBED managed to fascinate me especially at the beginning of the CD. HEARSE are the new band of ARCH ENEMY vocalist Johan Liiva, Max Thornell (ex-FURBOWL) and Mattias Ljung, a rather unknown but very talented guitarist. HEARSE stand for melodic Death Metal, that spices up this absolutely boring genre with an energetic Rock’n’Roll attitude and a certain amount of coolness and individuality. Liiva’s raw and intense vocals, varied wellcrafted songwriting, great classic Metal / Rock leads and an excellent production make “Dominion Reptilian” a really good and valuable album for fans of mid 90s SENTENCED or any other melodic yet aggressive Scandinavian Metal band. Well, if you like comparable stuff, give HEARSE a serious chance and enjoy songs like the catcy ‘Torch’, the great titletrack or the almost 9 minutes long ‘So Vague’.
