The Death / Black Metal world is such a serious place with so many bands which are more interested in their (nevertheless vague) image than their musical performance. But there are also guys from just around the corner who – by recording one good album after another – are showing the world their way of Metal vs. Rock’n’Roll. The Swedish band HEARSE is such a sympathic band and after a long time with more or less very disappointing experiences with their record labels I really hope that Vic Records can assist with the first steps to worldwide domination. The funeral vehicle is on the run since 2001 and their first two releases via Hammerheart Records are still perfect examples of the fusion of Death Metal with certain Rock influences plus one of the best cover songs ever (‘Cambodia’ by Kim Wilde). The former record “In These Veins” had been released in 2006 via Cold Records but the last three years passed nearly without any sign of life. But the long waiting time is over and HEARSE are ready for a new assault. Don’t expect any impressing changes – even if the names of two band members will forever be connected with their former band FURBOWL – the new record “Single Ticket To Paradise” has become the expected good Metal album. Maybe the ultimate killer hymn is missing but not a single song is dropping below the quality level and songs like the opener ‘Misanthropic Charades’ or the title track are offering perfect Death’n’Roll with a lot of dedication. As usual you can expect outstanding guitar work and every disappointed ARCH ENEMY fan (are there still some left after their ultra predictable last releases?!?) should give HEARSE a chance – you will not regret it!
