I’ve been aware of HEREZA for a bit now, mainly because of the cover artwork for the “Death Metal Drunks” album. It reminded me of another fave album cover of mine from the Thrash band THRASHWALL. At the time I enjoyed bits and pieces of the earlier output, but one nagging thought I kept having was, the slightly humorous approach to songwriting. Some of the song titles caused me to not take this too seriously. It caused me to second-guess myself on the music and the band as a whole. I don’t know… call me overly sensitive or getting older if you like, but the feeling persisted. I will admit, for the most part, that their take on the Death / Thrash vibe was / is pretty good and caused me to continue to listen to those earlier releases. The band has a bit of a DEMOLITION HAMMER, MISERY INDEX vibe going and that’s what I enjoy. Now with this, their latest output, much of those same nagging aforementioned elements persist. Mainly with some of the songs that come out of left field. A few happen in this release that make me and maybe you dear readers say… Uhm what?!? I will leave it to you to see / hear and experience this for yourself and to make your own conclusions. As mentioned, I do enjoy the overall approach and some of the songs capture that Death / Thrash vibe very well and the well-done production just helps in the overall. So give them a once over and make your conclusions. Give them a look over at www.facebook.com/herezametalband, https://hereza.bandcamp.com
