HUMAN WASTE
Harvest Remnants

It took a few minutes until clarity prevailed. So many bands using the same name. Of course the label Xtreem Music should have given me a hint, but I did not recognize the label at first sight. HUMAN WASTE are from Spain and the album "Brothel Of Souls" was the only full-length the band ever released during their career from 1990 to 2000. This CD features the following releases: the two demo tapes "The Miracle of Death" (1991) and "Existential Nausea" (1992) plus a promo tape simply entitled "Promo Tape ’93" and a cover tune of CELTIC FROST’s ‘Circle Of The Tyrants’. Quite interestingly the band was labeled as technical or progressive. If you listen to "Harvest Remnants" it seems an audible bass plus some breaks and a drummer also handling the keyboard in the line-up (responsible for some intro / outro noise) was sufficient to be considered as technical and progressive. Please do not get those words in its present meaning. It is simply Death Metal the way it was played by so many bands in the early 1990s. Of course not on the same level like the albums published in 1991, but do not forget, these are demo recordings. Although some songs during the 70 minutes playing-time are premature, the whole release is a tasty tidbit for all Death Metal fans who do not mind demo sound and rather classic songwriting. www.facebook.com/hwaste, www.xtreemmusic.com
