ILLOGICIST
Polymorphism Of Death

Whew! What a massive production! Nailed me right to the opposite wall! But this kind of music needs a good production anyway. ILLOGICIST from Italy play technical Death Metal. Obviously their influences are DEATH, ATHEIST, SPASTIK INK, SCEPTIC, etc. Guess they came across the term Jazz as well… ; -) I have to admit it didn’t grip me right away, but after maybe 4 times listening to "Polymorphism…" it started to drag me into the world of ILLOGICIST. The 3 songs (each longer than 6 minutes) are packed with ideas, still it doesn’t get too confusing as the band actually works with all of those riffs and breaks and doesn’t just put break after break after break just to show off. The occasionally added Thrash influences support the song material’s fluency as well. At times you get the impression that you’re dealing with instrumental music as the growls are sort of kept away as special effects (at least that’s my feeling). But why not show off a little if a band as good as ILLOGICIST is looking for a record deal? There has to be a company that understands this promising band! Check out their MP3 files at their website and you’ll see what I mean. www.illogicist.com
