Aaaaaaarrrrggghhh, this is it! This is pure fuckin’ Death Metal the way it was meant to be played! INFAMY already impressed me with their "Count The Dead" demo and "The Blood Shall Flow" debut full length, but this two song promo CD-R definitely contains the best material (yet?) that these guys have ever come up with! Just imagine a songwriting with a similar dark, morbid feeling as newer SADISTIC INTENT, combine that with the raw intensity of INCANTATION and the brutality of MORBID ANGEL. The final result comes pretty close to INFAMY! This Californian four piece is one of the few bands left these days that luckily still knows what brutal Death Metal is all about and skilled enough to perform it properly. A deep brutal voice, killer riffs and an overall very tight and heavy pounding rhythm section will make you bang your head right from the start. Never too fast, never too slow – but always heavy as fuck and composed with a lot of twists and turns, so that it never gets boring. I already played these songs over and over again and will probably continue to do so for quite a while. There’s two songs on this release, ‘Rape, Grind & Pillage’ and ‘Burning Vengeance’ and both are also supposed to appear on the band’s next full length album. If the band’s other finished new tunes ‘Cauterized’, ‘Quartet Of Doom’ and the titletrack ‘Requiem’ are only half as good as them, you can already expect one of the best true Death Metal albums in 2001! Unfortunately INFAMY haven’t signed a new contract for it yet, but I hope (and bet) that every label out there gets blown away in a similar way as yours truly, so that we will hear the result verrry soon!
