LORD VIGO’s new album “Walk The Shadows” sounds different from what they’ve done before for sure. Their music has been always evolving, but I think this one is far different. The music on this album is not as you might expect from a Heavy or Epic Doom Metal band. Instead, there’s a completely different vibe going on here. You’ll hear a lot of keyboards and some guitar work able to create a certain feeling that might not fit the Heavy or Epic Doom Metal realm but the ’80s electronic music (or I don’t know). The singing is different compared to the previous albums too. And I’m fine with the idea of sounding different, that’s okay, but “Walk The Shadows” is a huge movement into some other musical territories that I personally don’t know much about. I guess this album might surprise most of the LORD VIGO fans as here the band is exploring some other musicalities, leaving behind the Heavy or Doom Metal sounds. But if you’re open to something a little different, it’s worth checking out. The band is trying new things and I guess they have the right to. Anyway, it’s not the first or only band that has done this as in the past other bands did the same. That’s what music is about. “Walk The Shadows” is a cool listen if you want music that’s dark and a little mysterious but doesn’t beat you over the head with heaviness. If I’m honest, I tried to think of how to “classify” this album, but I was simply unable to. But I think the album is a pretty good one and is here to present a new version of a band that is able to break through and present something totally different to what the “regular” Metalhead is used to.
