Beast Of Nations

The MINOTAUR is back after a very silent period of precisely seven years with a new 4-track EP entitled “Beast Of Nations” out on High Roller Records. Fortunately enough the band did not change at all within the last seven years spanning from their sophomore record “God May Show You Mercy… We Will Not” up to this years “Beast Of Nations” which is very good in my book. To be honest, I’d even go that far, that I’d say they pretty much deliver what I actually would like to hear from a band like KREATOR these days. All four tracks do not fuck around at all with the listener, rather than delivering ’83 – ’85 European Thrash Metal the evil way. Of course they did not achieve the quality of genre classics such as “Power Of Darkness” or the “Death Metal” EP since the newer material is way more primitive and simple Thrash Metal rather than this hybrid of all sorts of extreme deathnoise, but it is nevertheless something worthy to be checked out, especially in a trend ridden time as ours. “Beast Of Nations” does not re-invent the wheel but MINOTAUR still manage to make it a diverse and interesting release due to incorporating different kinds of ideas spanning from “Leather, Bristles, Studs And Acne” all the way over to “Endless Pain” with everything in between. If you like the band this is of course a must have, if not it is still worthy enough to be checked out: www.minotaur-thrashers.com, www.facebook.com/pages/minotaur-official/85557527284, www.hrrecords.de
