MORTICIAN
Domain Of Death
(Relapse Records)
36:50min

Deep, deeper, MORTICIAN! Talking about MORTICIAN, everything is even a bit more extreme: the guitars are much deeper as well as the vocals and not every band is as fast as these sickos. Some people may find MORTICIAN ridiculous, quite a few don’t. Personally, I like the fact that they usually introduce their songs with sequences from horror films – this creates an atmosphere a movie might not have due to the visual effects’ poor quality, etc. The following rage of course would be an excellent sound track for such movies (please don’t wake me from my dreams). For those of you who are into MORTICIAN and don’t have “Domain Of Death” yet: there are two things I don’t like about the new one. First of all: the cheap sounding drum computer (better on “Hacked Up…”, for example). Secondly, the short playing time. There are even two (cool) cover versions on here (PUNGENT STENCH and DISASTROUS MURMUR). Hey, guys, this isn’t really what I would call a long player! Apart from that you can say that if you already like MORTICIAN, the new songs are not going to disappoint you. If you don’t know them yet it looks like this one is easier to get than the others, so check it out. Are you ready to enter the domain of death?
