NERLICH
At Eternity's Gate

From one of the standard bearers of the old school Death Metal movement, the F.D.A. Records label, comes the Finnish NERLICH. Just those two words together, ‘Finnish’ and ‘Lich’ should give a ballpark idea of what kind of soundpicture we’re getting here. The multi-tentacled and mutant DEMILICH is a strong influence on this band, although NERLICH’s vocals are more 1989 David Vincent than Jabba the Hutt… Glimmers of other chugging Finnish stuffs also come mind, such as SLUGATHOR / DESECRESY. And while it is personally refreshing to get some old school Death Metal that is something other than ENTOMBED copy #461, NERLICH didn’t give me whiplash. not bad, not great, NERLICH is for guys who can’t get enough of the Finnish sound.
