OZ is BACK!!! Yes, originally formed in 1977 in a small town called Nakkila, Finland – and later relocating and disbanding in Sweden, the Finnish Heavy Metal legends OZ – without a doubt, did surprise most of us by collecting their troops in February 2010 again, to make new uncompromising and straightforward Heavy Metal, in the one and only OZ  style. OZ’s 2nd album, "Fire In The Brain" – as well as the 3-track 1984 EP, titled "Turn The Cross Upside Down", can still both be considered sort of timeless classics in many ways, of which most OZ-fans remember these Finnish (and Swedish) Heavy Metal heroes best for. Since then the band’s sound was unfortunately watered down quite a bit on their later releases, and due to that OZ started alarmingly losing its finest charm (and obviously some die-hard fans of the band, too), resulting in OZ’s split-up in 1991. With a new 2-track promotional CD, featuring a brand-new OZ song titled ‘Dominator’ in twenty years (plus a video for it as well) + a re-make of the ‘Fire In The Brain’ song, I’m happy to say OZ’s comeback is definitely more than well-grounded, based on how good this new OZ song actually is. The same vibe and feeling of OZ’s most glorious times is strongly present in ‘Dominator’, rollin’ over its listeners indelibly – and especially having a chorus part that sticks easier to one’s mind than a Herpes virus in an oral contact. ‘Dominator’ makes a great promise of what we can expect from the band’s forthcoming 6th studio album, "Burning Leather" – containing both new and re-recordings of some OZ classic songs, on November 18th, 2011. A re-make of ‘Fire In The Brain’ sounds also successfully made, performed even slightly sharper with a more mature touch than the original version of the song. Last but not least, the ‘Dominator’ video looks delightfully good, too – full of Heavy Metal’s cheeky clichés, containing of glimpses of pentagrams, lotsa fire, a pole dancer, a bride of Satan getting sacrificed, etc. – and most importantly, showing these true Heavy Metal legends performing on stage, stronger and more extravagant than ever before.
