1995 marked the year of birth for PERVERSITY from Slovakia. The five band members devote themselves to brutal and technical Death Metal and after two demo releases finally managed to complete their debut CD “In The Garment Of Lust”. And well it is a good, complex and blasting effort, but unfortunately nothing extraordinary in my eyes, although PERVERSITY are definitively skilful musicians, the songs lack of the right impact – good Death Metal makes you nod your head, great Death Metal fucking blows you away, it makes you want to bang and thrash up your living room! PERVERSITY are just a “head-nodder” band and sadly there are hundreds of them in the European Metal scene. Another point of criticism is the very dominant snare-drum sound, which starts to suck after 5 or 6 songs. What I really like about “In The Garment Of Lust” is the bass-play, which reminds me a bit of Steve DiGiorgio and adds an individual note to the PERVERSITY sound, but that does not make you buy the CD. The Slovakian Deathers hold a consistent level of quality, that unfortunately is not more than mediocre, sorry guys! For more information check out: www.perversity.sk
