PRIMORDIAL is one of the few great ‘90s bands that managed to escape from all trends of their time and luckily still continue their own, unique path, crafting an absolutely personal sound that always remained faithful to their roots. Every serious follower of the band will already know that this is one of the most hard-working and dedicated bands of this scene and if I am allowed to say this, I think that they have rightfully earned their place as one of the most successful bands in contemporary Metal scene. It is no wonder that after so many years in an established label (Metal Blade), they still continue with the same hunger and dedication. Their new opus “Redemption At The Puritan’s Hand” continues in the same direction as their previous album “To The Nameless Dead” yet their latest effort sounds even more epic, powerful and at the same time melancholic and bleak. As it is always the case with PRIMORDIAL there are so many layers in all of their albums, which definitely grow with time, without doubt true art! I can hardly think any reason for negative critique because this is an absolutely carefully crafted album with attention to the very last detail, a by all means exceptional effort! My only regret is that I didn’t have the chance to read Alan’s lyrics prior to writing this review, still I am sure they will add a lot to the overall atmosphere and essence of the album. From what I can understand there is a lot of parallelism and symbolism related to Ireland’s economic situation (which is very similar to the one of my own homeland, thus I can feel the connection). In any case and as mentioned in the past already: “These fine Irishmen create true art and despite the fast-food consuming music industry that surrounds us, they manage to create albums that are nothing but pure art, albums we feel proud of having in our collection”. www.primordialweb.com, www.metalblade.de
