This LP version shows clearly why vinyl is the better option to CD and without one single doubt to mp3 or any other digital format. To hold this great looking gatefold sleeve in your hands, including gatefold inner sleeve, feels just great and brings back the same memories when vinyl releases where common. I also changed my behavior during the years to listen to music only incidental in the background, but, among others, for "Lightbringer" I came back to my old way, sitting in front of my record player and listening to the music while reading the lyrics and analyzing the great looking sleeve. So that’s simply great and both thumbs up to High Roller Records for such a great packaging. This all is for nothing if the music sucks. Not the case here, to make it straight clear. "Lightbringer" is the 2nd album from Swedish RAM and the first time I hear them. I always thought they are some kind of JUDAS PRIEST clone, but I was damn wrong here. For sure they have their JUDAS PRIEST-moments like in ‘Awakening Of The Chimera’ which is PRIEST to the bone, all in all it’s a great real Heavy Metal album, with elements from JUDAS PRIEST, MERCYFUL FATE or MANOWAR which especially get’s clear on the upcoming Metal hymn ‘Suomussalmi (The Few Of Iron)’. This is a great epic song, one which would bring MANOWAR back on track again if they would have written it. All in all I can say that I’m totally surprised by this great album, the visual side is perfect and the music is great, too, and grows with each run. An album I’m able to completely recommend, be it on CD or on vinyl – though this is no option here and your decision should be clear. Available from High Roller Records (www.hrrecords.de) in an edition of 1000 copies (150 in white / silver blend vinyl, 250 in white vinyl and 600 in black vinyl).
