Obviously not a very original name nowadays… murder spelled backwards. 30 years ago it sounded cool, but nowadays, it’s like, really? Ok, enough criticism, this is a band formed in Colombia and this is their debut album. If the name, cover art and album title does not give you an indication of the music, then humanity’s lost. And yes, there are the evil horror inspired intros, the gurgling vocals and the chugging riffs… what usually is called slamming brutal Death Metal, a style I’m not exactly fon on it. Yeah, I know, I like very similar bands but cannot get into the ultra gore or ultra brutal Metal. Well, fear not, this is actually a very good release, which I would say is brutal, yeah, not that slam, and has a very thick yet clear guitar sound, not far away from early AUTOPSY, with bits of CANNIBAL CORPSE and touches of early TERRORIZER. The vocals are probably the closest to the brutal slamming Death Metal thing, yet again also not that much. The guitar sound I must mention is just great, I just think that the drum sound probably is a bit sloppy at times, but then again we’re not here for satisfying Dream Cinema fans or something like that. Fans of well done Death / Grind / Gore and related realms give this one a listen, I’m pretty sure you will lose a limb to infection… I mean you probably will like it. www.facebook.com/redrumdeathgrind, www.facebook.com/ibdc666
