This band is currently signed at Dark Horizon Records (USA), their debut has been released via this label as well. This band left me awe-struck so to speak. SAURON play hyper-fast… hmmm, let’s call it WarDeathBlackMetal. Like that, guys. For some strange reason they remind me of ANGELCORPSE with a stronger emphasis on the Black Metal component. The production is fabulous… that is, very clear and powerful. All the elements in the music sound cool in a very old-schoolish way. Most of the time, these lunies blast their arses off without bothering about the speed limits they infringe. The vocals sound hoarse and mad — just the way it ought to be. The guitars are struck in a maddening speedy fashion. Every once in a while there are mid-paced parts for the sake of variety. This is the case, for instance, ‘Earth To Ash, Sky To Dust’, where there is such a part reminding me a bit of SATYRICON or MORBID ANGEL.
