Here we have SCARECROW, a thrashing Black Metal band from Finland. There’s one country that doesn’t lack for good Metal! This is a four track EP. This is a band with the standard fare of themes: Satan, Metal, Hell, and desecrating the name of Jesus. The band certainly looks the part and I have to praise the guitarist for wearing a Mexican wrestling mask! Great blending of Metal and humor. Plus it’s a little demonic looking in its own right. Anyway, the songs are Thrash and crisped with blackened vocals and some blasting. ‘Metalscum’ kicks off the EP. What can I say but that it’s a headbanger’s song. Something to drink to for sure. Next is ‘Son Of Satan’, and it’s just as good if not better. It has a little keyboard in it, but it’s nothing symphonic, more of an old school Rock’n’Roll touch. The most blasphemous and mocking song is the third one, ‘Jesus, Lucifer, And Me’. The sarcasm is hard to miss! This is the most anthemic song, reminding me somewhat of bands like METALUCIFER who write simple but catchy and purely Metal songs. Finally, ‘La Martiza’ is a cover song according to the info I have, but I can’t say which band they’re covering. Well, it’s a good song and has a funny chorus. Metal yodeling, not something you hear all the time! I think this is a cool, kick ass EP by a band that I hope will stick around to make some more beer-appropriate Thrash. www.scarecrow.rocks.it, www.facebook.com/pages/scarecrow/111414328954735
