SEVERED SAVIOR
Servile Insurrection

All Death Metal maniacs can look more than positive into the near future because it seems that the second dawn of Death Metal is only a matter of time. Younger and also the famous cult acts are still hungry enough to convince the next generation of the undeniable qualities of our music. So within the next months we can expect a further wave of new releases via the wellknown record companies and SEVERED SAVIOR’s second album is maybe one of the first records which is falling into this category. With the statement that we are talking about an American band nearly everything is said. The band has an underground experience of over 8 years and had been touring extensively with bands like DEEDS OF FLESH or CANNIBAL CORPSE – and musically there are 100% in line with their American Death Metal brothers. "Servile Insurrection" is for my understanding a little bit too typical, meaning it’s as traditional as possible and everybody who had been fallen in love with the first DEICIDE releases will find nothing disappointing in this release. All others will search for something unique during the 35 minutes and even if the band is adding some Spanish guitars to their music (not fully integrated into their music; more as intros / outros to their songs) it’s still hard to review this album without the impression that SEVERED SAVIOR has recorded a good but still nothing else than an average US Death Metal record. www.candlelightrecords.co.uk, www.severedsavior.com
