The last gallop in the universe – translation of the original title of the SICULICIDIUM debut – is another more than interest release out of the Rumanian forest. The band has been founded in 2003 and after the normal underground way of success – meaning demo / split / EP – the band is presenting their official debut. It’s quite hard these days to see other acts from misty Transylvania totally independent due to the overwhelming scene titan NEGURA BUNGET. The debut “Utolso Vagta Az Univerzumban” has been already released in 2009 but even with some delay the album deserves to be mentioned here. From the musical point of view SICULICIDIUM are not a totally brutalized and blackened combo. The six tracks of atmospheric Black Metal are very well structured and the band has included some calmer moments in each track which give the material the necessary diversity. In some way the band sounds like their Hungarian brothers SEAR BLISS even if the trumpet is missing. This album is a more than solid start for SICULICIDIUM and this matter is supported by the fact that the album has been recently also published on tape – maybe due to the fact that the original version via Sun & Moon Records is/was only limited to 1000 copies.
