International super group of Death Metal dealers Siege of Power have returned after a lengthy five year break. The band’s sophomore effort has just dropped bringing down eleven tracks of non-stop devastation in just over fourty minutes. Combining elements of members that were previously (or still are) in such legendary acts as AUTOPSY, HAIL OF BULLETS, THANATOS, ABCESS and GRAND SUPREME BLOOD COURT. Now with that kind of line-up you know anything that they crank out will be top notch. Let’s divine into the music. The wave of demolition starts off with the killer track ‘Force Fed Fear’, chugging guitars, thunderous drums and vocals of destruction follow with full-fledged assault. You know you are in for a fun ride when the first track knocks you on your ass. Next up is one of my favorites on this album, ‘Sinister Christians’. The song right off the bat catches your ear with the catchy guitar riffs and the eradicate Punk style drumming adds to the momentum of the song. The songwriting on this album is well thought out and consistent, you don’t see the band deviate too far from the baseline that they are known for while still experimenting on sound. ‘Ghosts Of Humanity’ is a perfect depiction of what I am referring to and is a slow building crescendo-ing throughout. ‘As The World Crumbles’ and ‘Deeper Wounds’ fall into this similar category with the latter really taking the listener on a journey into emotional abyss. ‘Scavengers’ slows things down a bit, but in a good way as the brutality is still there. Things pick up again with the songs ‘Oblivion’ and ‘The Devil’s Grasp’, which are headbanging favorites and surely to kick start a mosh pit at any concert. Wrapping up the album are the last two tracks, ‘No Salvation’ and ‘This Is Tomorrow’. Both songs on their own merit are great with the former carrying a sharp hook in the middle of the song. The latter is the title track of the album, delivering a combination of what all the previous tracks on the album brought to the table. Heavy, dark and brooding. Overall this is a really good follow-up to their debut album “Warning Blast”. The band delivered and checked off all the boxes on what a solid Death Metal album should include. Old school Death Metal fans will love it because of the alumni in this band, and new school Death Metal fans will have their interest peaked by checking out what these guys deliver to the masses. I highly recommend anyone to check this band out. For more info please visit www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100046272619949 or www.facebook.com/metalbladerecords
