Tel Aviv’s SONNE ADAM appear with their first release, a 7" EP, on German Imperium Productions – a nice small (mostly vinyl) label which offered in the past releases as the split EP of ERODED and PAGANIZER, COFFINS’ "The Other Side Of Blasphemy" or the split EP of DEATHEVOKATION and LIE IN RUINS. I haven’t heard any updates from this label for a while and the online-presentation is outdated as hell. Therefore I was kinda surprised hearing from SONNE ADAM that this label is going to release this 7" EP. Well, surprised is probably the wrong word; happy would be the better one, as the music of SONNE ADAM is worth to be available on vinyl. SONNE ADAM are the easiest comparable to NECROS CHRISTOS, as the way the riffs are played, the guitars in general and the overall sound reminds a lot to the German masters of dark Death Metal. The vocals are brutal and very deep which suits just perfect to the dark and deep sound of the musical frame. The decent use of keyboards is the final helping hand to make this 7" EP as good as it is. Honestly spoken I’m really impressed here and this debut release, even if it is only a 16 minutes long recording is prove enough that we can count with this Israeli band a big deal in the future. Besides 3 own tunes you can find a cover of DARKTHRONE’s ‘The Serpents Harvest’ (originally released on their "Total Death" album). As I don’t know the "Total Death" album and therefore have no clue if this is a good or bad coverversion I just remain saying that this song comes along just fantastic with the other 3 tunes. "Armed With Hammers" is the first blow of the hammer from SONNE ADAM and I would bet my ass off if this would be the last awesome release we will hear from them. Highly recommended. Check out www.myspace.com/sonneadam for contacting the band and www.imperium-productions.com for the label.
