SOULCARRION hail from Poland and play an uncompromising old school Death Metal. Right from the opening track, we’re greeted by a combination of low guitars and vocals that continue their majestic march throughout the album. Interestingly, I watched the 2016 documentary “Death By Metal” about DEATH last week and somehow SOULCARRION has carried the spirit of DEATH’s original sound and added a Polish twist to it. If you’re a fan of the first two DEATH albums, this sound will appeal to you instantly. The band keeps it simple yet ferocious. This is a short EP clocking just under 14 minutes but SOULCARRION profess their love for Chuck and DEATH incredibly well within that very short span of time. One of the absolute highlights of this release is track #2 titled ‘Piles Of Ashes’. The guitar solo immediately takes you back to the sound of “Leprosy” with the relentless attack of Trey Azagthoth which is a treat to hear. Like I said, it’s a simple release meant to give the fans a quick glimpse into what the band has been up to and they succeed in their mission. If you’re a fan of early Death Metal, this EP is for you, simple and straight! Every song on this EP stands on its own with brilliant sections that transport you back to the first time you heard some brilliant Death Metal.
