Deathless Steel Command

“Deathless Steel Command”, the first album of this British act, is a recording dating from 2005, but for some different reasons it didn’t see the light of day until September 2006 on Invictus Productions. I had heard these guys were quite violent (musically speaking) and the cover reflecting an empty battlefield gives you an idea they take no prisoners. Their sound is a harsh mix of War Death Metal, some norwegian Black Metal riffs, good malignant thrashy riffs and solos and a lot of blastbeats. So, yes, speed is primary here, you have lots of it, and the overall sound can remind something between the great aussie sound of first Destroyer 666 and Bestial Warlust and some old Immortal / Darkthrone stuff (even fastest Marduk), but I think the already mentioned blastbeats are the difference with these bands; hopefully there are some heavier dark midpaced parts, which are great to arrive between the rest and are a good idea not to have a monotonous album with only speed. And one of the best things here are the hateful vocals of mr. Barghest, simply making you feel the rage, reminding again the aussie style, and vomiting the war-inspired (with some antichristian subjects too) lyrics. So, in just a bit more than half an hour these guys deliver all the brutality you need to forget about this fucked up world for some hours (or perhaps to increase your hatred, hehe). www.invictusproductions.net
