Solid band name, good logo and with these attributes the fire of relentless Death Metal played throughout that makes me proud to now know of this UK four piece, for sure England’s answer to ANGELCORPSE! Of Jeroni Sancho’s review of SPEARHEAD’s previous album “Deathless Steel Command” within these pages I was expecting something more akin to the hell warriors of Aussie hordes that have been clawing their way from that accursed isle in recent years. Nothing though could be further from the truth, from that review given any how whilst this CD here spins before me today. Obviously SPEARHEAD has made a tremendous leap from their debut CD or decided to change directions altogether as clearly what is wrought now is a hail of vicious audio bombardment that includes tight, effectual guitar riffs, Azagthoth-styled leadwork, Helmkamp-ish vocals and blasting technical drum work reminiscent of Pete Sandoval in his prime. Honestly it’s not every day you hear a band of this much inherent skill, that can execute their ideas with such determination and acute providence, and of whom also hail from England’s shores. Very promising. www.spearhead.cjb.net, www.myspace.com/spearheadofficial, www.invictusproductions.net
