Formerly known as MORTUARY, Polish Death Metal institution SUPREME LORD, that was formed in 1991, is undoubtedly one of the longest running Polish Death Metal bands that has built up their career for several years as an uncompromising and most respected underground Death Metal act. All the band members have also achieved their background experience in many other less or more known extreme Metal bands over the years (Reyash in CHRIST AGONY, WITCHMASTER, etc., Zaala in CHRIST AGONY, KILL, etc. and last but not least Morbus in VOMIGOD and MORBUS MORTIFER), so all this experience should speak for the favor of them. The question is: does it? Yep, it does – absolutely. SUPREME LORD’s 2nd album, titled "Father Kaos", is one hell of a package of a smartly composed, brutal and dark Death Metal, which metaphorically speaking at least, comes from every possible direction to split your spine for two separate pieces. No doubts, this is a truly crushing and downright brutal Death Metal done at its best, sort of reminding of the very same intensity and supremely tight musicianship there are in bands like KRISIUN as well as in DEICIDE. SUPREME LORD have much of the same vibe and feeling on "Father Kaos", added with some, a bit more primitive and murky sounds of INCANTATION that bring that extra kick of tasteful flavor into their songs. Right from the first moments when this record gets burst violently straight toward our faces, the band takes the command – keeping listeners tightly in their merciless grip ’til the record has reached its grande finale. The INCANTATION cover song, ‘Profanation’, which they have done for this record, in my opinion they have done more than just a fair justice to the original version from this song but the two other covers songs – ‘Ritual’ by BLASPHEMY and ‘Tormentor Infernal’ by WITCHMASTER, unfortunately just don’t pound the head the way they should due to a lousy production in both of them. The purpose of these two songs was primarily to play a role of bonus tracks on this release anyway, but I don’t think anybody would have started to cry after them if they had left both of these 2 other cover songs simply outside of this release as well. "Father Kaos" is still one of the better Polish Death Metal releases that I have had a pleasure to hear within the past 2-3 years or so.
