THE PROJECT HATE MCMXCIX
Armageddon March Eternal (Symphonies Of Slit Wrists)
(Threeman Recordings)
65:42min

This is the 5th output of this Swedish kind of “all-star” band, featuring Jörgen Sandström (ex-GRAVE, ex-ENTOMBED, VICIOUS ART), Dan Swanö (should be well-known) and the likes. Should this guarantee a great album, an “over the top” release? Concerning the Death Metal kind of content “Armageddon March Eternal” is enjoyable, yes. Powerful riffing, grooving, driving and tight, these guys know what they are doing, Swedish Death Metal. But, and I am the last one having a negative attitude on experiments, what the fuck have this EVANESCENCE, WITHIN TEMPTATION and NIGHTWISH – like parts (including female vocals) lost in there, something which goes heavily on my balls immediately? And it is not appearing once or twice, it is really throughout the whole album. Seems like a joke which I can not laugh about… The info sheet says something like: “This is the soundtrack to Armageddon…”. Maybe they are right concerning Death Metal’s Armageddon… www.threeman.net
