Infernal Wings Of Damnation

The opening track, which happens to be the titletrack, opens in the best DEICIDE tradition and pulls up a heavy wall for anyone who wants to reach for the heart of the music. Not only because of the typical double vocals and heavy production, but especially the agression shows similarities without drowning into a blasting inferno. In the second part of this track, a darkness emerges that increases steadily and is finished off by an excellent solo from guitarist JC that leaves you curious for more and feel confident that these guys have the vital class not to fail. Actually all solos of JC are suprisingly melodic (a wonderful contrast with the brutality) and the rest of the band gives enough room for full effect. This gives that extra distinguishable bit of quality that’s welcome in so many releases. The second track ‘The Bloody Temple Of The Flesh’ continues where it just ceased. The agression is not overwhelming, but wisely dosed and functioning as an instrument to canalise the darkening hate. Camilo Peralta’s production in his The Hail And Kill Studios let these 10 tracks sound heavy and in balance. Despite THY SERPENT’S CULT only released just 1 demo ("Welcome To The Cult", 2009) and 1 EP ("Invocator Of The Spawns", 2010) before this beast, these guys sound tight and experienced in how to transform anger effectively into songs. "Infernal Wings Of Damnation" already dates from 2011 and in the meantime the second album "Sedition, Sorcery and Blasphemy" is about to see the black of day, which the band themsleves describe as more intense with a fuller and better sound. Sounds very promising! Nevertheless, this is a excellent debut and a nutricious meal for anyone who feeds on DEICIDE, SINISTER, HEADHUNTER DC, BLASPHERIAN, old HATE and the likes. Chile is already known for its underground with excellent bands as DEMONIC RAGE, PENTAGRAM CHILE, SADISM, ATOMIC AGGRESSOR, MELEKTAUS, UNAUSSPRECHLICHEN KULTEN, PERVERSOR, HADES ARCHER, FORCE OF DARKNESS, AMMIT and now we can add THY SERPENT’S CULT to this mighty list.
