Some may know that these Metalheads released 2 demo tapes under the monicker STURMTRUPPEN. After a change of the old bandname into TRUPPENSTURM, they come up with this selftitled 7" EP. 5 songs of "directly into the face" War Metal. Most primitive riffing, high speed but also rhythmic drumming and high pitched screams filled up with different samples show you what war really could be (musically). The drum-rhythms and the extremely simple riffing somehow reminds a bit of old Norwegian maniacs MYSTICUM, which I mean in a positive way. The sound of this EP is kept really raw and undergroundish, but it fits the whole release. In every case this one is worth a listen, cool. www.van-gbr.de
