Death Metal is like an everflowing stream. New bands seem constantly to be popping up from everywhere, making it really hard to follow this particular genre in question as accurately as – let’s say, like 20 or so years ago. I was completely alright with my ENTOMBEDs, MORBID ANGELs, DISMEMBERs, AUTOPSYs, IMMOLATIONs, etc. during the nineties, but nowadays when there’s like a couple of zillions new bands more, things have just got much more harder to keep oneself up to date regarding all those both old and new bands out there. Understandably nobody has the needed ability anymore to turn every rock on his / her way to find out new exciting things; neither you nor me. WALKING DEAD SUICIDE, this 4-piece modern sounding Death Metal combo coming from the capital of Finland, Helsinki, have also come to the point when it was time to record a debut studio album. This 7-track effort, titled "Rise Of Resistance" – to be absolutely honest with all of you, unfortunately didn’t do much for me at all. Not that these fellows could not have enough skills to write songs properly, as they admittedly do have a few good ideas in their pockets to impress at least some of us people out there. Unfortunately WALKING DEAD SUICIDE’s frenzied, violent – and occasionally progressive and even avantgard-ish on "Rise Of Resistance" just wasn’t for me this time. A handful of good moments couldn’t change my unbiased opinion about this release. The band’s sort of an discordant appeal to mix familiar and safe brutality and heaviness of Death Metal with some sample loops here and there, simply worked as a turn-off for me personally. I really want to hear my Death Metal as Death Metal without any artsy-craftsy pulled in, just to add more value of being a more original and unique sounding act.
