Whatever happened to BOLT THROWER? The latest album "Those Once Loyal" dates back to 2005, nearly ten years. Some time ago the band explained it is very hard to write new material since "Those Once Loyal" represents the ultimate BOLT THROWER release. But there is a solution for all those longing for new BOLT THROWER stuff. Simply listen to WARLORD U.K., the band perfectly fills in the gap that BOLT THROWER left. Maybe some of you know the outfit from Birmingham, United Kingdom, already. After all the band is active since 1993 and in the beginning the band played a Death Metal with heavy Thrash Metal influences. But during the last two albums ("We Die As One" is the third full-length) they changed more into that typical BOLT THROWER style. Rolling, crushing, grinding, pulverizing and milling mid-tempo drums, flanked by rolling, crushing, grinding, pulverizing and milling guitar riffs, topped by rolling, crushing, grinding, pulverizing and milling vocals. The production is clear and powerful, the cover artwork kind of cliché, but that does not bother me too much. Of course the eight songs (plus intro and outro) are not on the same level like the two latest BOLT THROWER albums, but that is beyond demand. Enough is enough, I have mentioned the band from Coventry six times, you know what to expect from WARLORD U.K. Definitely a band to support and an album worth to buy! www.warlorduk.co.uk, www.xtreemmusic.com
