Paying tribute to the real scum that was! WHISKEY RITUAL are a Black’n’Roll band from Italy! After some great works in the last 15 years, they decided to go for a cover EP. Such records not always come as easy and well done results. There are two ways to accomplish the idea: play in the same ways as the original or translate, but not denature, in a personal way. WHISKEY RITUAL, with their “Still Scum” EP, have been able to come up with work that goes in the second direction. We are not dealing with better versions of the originals, and I don’t even think that was the band’s aim, but simply with very well played and above all sung versions. Another great merit lies in the choice of songs: no Metal bands, but they range in the world of Punk between traditional, Oi! and Post. Not at all a trivial journey with a well-researched song proposal. SHAM 69, IGGY POP, COCKSPARRER, THE CASUALTIES, DEVO and THE DICTATORS. Maybe those names are mentioned for the first time on this site, a lot of you know them and for some they are definitely an influence.
