The Doom Metal roots are part of the 70s and for sure can make some father talk more precisely about the origin of this music than their own sons. By keeping this fact in mind it’s no surprise that for the next Doom generation the old goods are more than just a source of inspiration. APOSTEL OF SOLITUDE are no exception to this rule by traveling back in time and reawakening this old Doom feeling. The American band has released two demos since their founding in 2004 (“Apostle Of Solitude” and “Embraced By The Black”) before they finally recorded their debut “Sincerest Misery”. Think you can enjoy the 4 years of practice with every song because the band knows how to create this essential feeling. Think Doom Metal stands and falls with the convincing atmosphere and APOSTLE OF SOLITUDE is without doubt a band which is more than capable of these standards. Especially by supporting the album with two great instrumentals they can easily build a bridge to BLACK SABBATH and their generation. That’s maybe the only minor problem because the vocals are clearly more Rock than Metal so don’t expect some shouts or growls – “Sincerest Misery” is a 100 % tribute to these days and can’t be compared to releases of for example bands like the Norwegian SAGH. I’m really convinced that after listening to songs likes ‘Last Tears’ or ‘The Messenger’ you will buy this album without hesitation and maybe the limited vinyl version with nearly 100 minutes playing time (2 bonus tracks from the second demo) as a Christmas present for the vinyl collection of your dad. www.apostleofsolitude.com, www.northern-silence.de
