ARKHON INFAUSTUS
Hell Injection

The release of this album was delayed due to the extreme cover and booklet inlay concept, centered around satanized sadistic and drug related themes. But in the end, only the music matters and unfortunately ARKHON INFAUSTUS fail to offer something new in this domain. If you own the ABOMINATOR album “Damnation’s Prophecy” or anything from BESTIAL WARLUST already, it is your choice to spare or spent your money as ARKHON INFAUSTUS deliver this kind of stuff by the book. It is not to say this first album is bad, but it is nothing special for sure. The band created quite a stir in their hometown – Paris – due to some blasphemous performances, when half naked leatherclad “dominatresses” were showcased on stage; but I am sorry, this cannot account for musical originality. “Hell Injection” offers nine tracks of decently played Death / Black metal, nothing more, nothing less. Note that the production sounds very raw and that the drums lack power, even if the overall sound dynamic is satisfying. ARKHON INFAUSTUS is an example of what happens when image supersedes music, and the band should be better inspired to produce something more original next time.
