BONES are a Death Metal / Crust band from Chicago, USA. I heard their last full length “Diseased” a while back and I was curious as soon as I saw a note from my editor. “Vomit” was released in 2022 by Disorder Recordings and continues to capture BONES at their filthiest. The band focusses on being a raw, no-frills-attached medium in order to achieve their vision. Death Metal and Crust is often a potent mix and when done right is a delight, BONES take us down the journey through filthy sewers on a dark moon night, everything’s twice as distorted with no regard for the normal. The vocals attack like the listener endlessly, the guitars are just a mush of sonic madness and the drums fit into the entire equation rather easily. With the record just being under 26 minutes, the band come together to create a storm of distorted blurry visions and leave you with a feeling of wanting more. I have to mention their brilliant cover of VAN HALEN’s ‘She’s The Woman’. The band completely surprised me here, you can clearly hear the band’s just having fun with the track. Utter fun!
