The earth has been shaken by the third strike of this rolling Death Metal tank machine known as DESECRESY. They come directly as descendants of the killer band SLUGATHOR and do have the same vibe and aura of darkness and despair. Death Metal as only the cold lands of Finland can erupt. Recalling the sound of DEMIGOD, CONVULSE, early XYSMA, with a very strong BOLT THROWER and AUTOPSY influence, and not scared of using creepy melodies, they continue pretty much in the same vein of their other efforts. Still, I can sense a noticeable difference as this album has a slower pace, and hardly any fast parts. For once, it works with the band, but alas, some might find this to be a bit repetitive and monotone, whilst others might find this also trance-inducing and morbidly evocative. Their debut album left many fans of their previous incarnation as SLUGATHOR a bit disappointed as it missed the overall suffocative aura, but then, their second offering raised them to the levels they once reached with the previous band. This third album falls a bit short in comparison to their second, masterpiece opus “The Doom Skeptron”, but it does continue in a similar vein and aura. Deep, low growling vocals from the bowels of hell at an asphyxiating mid tempo assault is what DESECRESY master in this album. Yes, I would have preferred some faster songs and parts, but then again, a slow death is the most painful one.
