And here they are, after a break of some years they are back again. Disastrous Murmur have been one of the first bands from Austria playing Death Metal together with Disharmonic Orchestra and Pungent Stench. After a real milestone and classic called "Rhapsodies In Red" Disastrous Murmur released their second album "Folter" containing a dose of Death and Thrash Metal, which unfortunately was not that convincing anymore. So what is to expect from their new and third album? Basically it is Disastrous Murmur with their old-school Death Metal clad in a sound / production that could be from the early 90s. So far so good, but in my opinion there are too many unspectacular riffs included. Furthermore you also find some parts with a more rockier approach that I do not dig, too. And the songs themselves could be played with some more enthusiasm, more tight and aggressive. Somehow I am personally not that convinced by this splatter, but maybe there are enough old-school maniacs out there digging this one. Maybe you better give "… And Hungry Are The Lost " a listen and decide for yourself.
