Necroharmonic Productions has a great taste for compilations of new and old bands. They have put out some really good ones from such names as AUTOPSY, DR SHRINKER and CORPSE MOLESTATION. You can now put DISMA next to those classics. And they deserve to be put in that same category on their very own. Formed back in 2005 and featuring members and ex – members of INCANTATION, METHADRONE and FUNEBRARUM to name a few, these guys are no newcomers to the scene. DISMA has a solid Death / Doom foundation, adding a good amount of variation throughout one demo, three 7” EPs and an amazing full length album, with a second full length album in the works (long overdue, if you ask me). And this is exactly what "The Lost Vault Of Chaos" compiles. Every song they have released, except for the ones featured in their debut album, "Towards The Megalith", from 2011. Disc one features "The Vault Of Membros" demo 2009, "The Manifestation" 7" EP, their track from the DISMA / WINTERWOLF split 7" (both released in 2011) and both tracks off the DISMA / CONVULSE split 7" from 2013. Disc two features the four tracks off their demo tape, but recorded live on the radio on the Soma Degenerate show WNYU in New York City. These have a great overall sound. But the real treat here is the performance, that captures the band’s intensity when playing live. Luckily they have kept true to their roots and their style since the band’s inception: dense, haunting and heavy as fuck Death / Doom Metal. I dare say DISMA is easily one of the best bands I have heard in the last 10 years. The only change has been the recent departure of guitarist Daryl Kahan (FUNEBRARUM). So now, Craig Pillard (METHADRONE, ex – INCANTATION) has taken the guitar spot, besides his regular part as the vocalist. "The Lost Vault Of Chaos" is a must have for every Death Metal fan out there. It is as simply as that. I am already looking forward to that second album!
