DISMA
Towards The Megalith

Gone are the times when bands came out with landmark releases, interesting new styles and overwhelming atmospheres. Today’s scene is saturated with clones and sound-alikes. So, it is pretty hard to differentiate one band from the next. But, luckily, there will always be an exception to the rule, a band that really sets itself apart from the crowd. And DISMA is such a band. Their demo tape "Into The Vault Of Membros" is proof of their identity, a 3-song ear-punisher showcasing their new-old way of pounding Death Metal with Doom influences. But wait; they have just released their debut album, "Towards The Megalith", via the Canadian Profound Lore Records label. And the ear punishing got heavier, a lot heavier. This IS a landmark album, this IS the past coming alive to haunt you with monumental evil riffs, the haunting melodies and abyss-deep growls, enshrouded in a wall of distortion. The band has crafted an "instant classic" when it comes down to mid-paced Death / Doom, drawing influences from INCANTATION, WINTER and MASTER. Their brand of music feels like a black hole dragging you into oblivion. All I can say is that it took me at least a decade to find such a brilliant album, such a display of raw brutality. So yes, buy this album now! I cannot recommend it enough! Support the band because they do deserve it. Darkness is onto us! www.myspace.com/dismadeathmetal, www.profoundlorerecords.com
