DUST BOLT
Mass Confusion

The best way to describe the music on "Mass Confusion" is my imagination about the clothes that this four-piece from Germany is wearing. A few seconds after the first tunes I immediately imagined hi-top sport shoes and skinny denim jeans plus a leather jacket. Of course this is just my vision, but I think the music delivered on the third album can not be more traditional Thrash Metal. Influenced by American Thrash Metal, both the more melodic and varied Bay Area Thrash Metal together with East Coast style, rooted respectively affected by the vivid Hardcore scene. The problem which leaves me inwardly torn are the vocals. Husk shouting and barking perfectly fits to the fast and ferocious songs. But for the slower and more complex, melodic songs the vocals simply do not work. DUST BOLT even dared to record a ballad (‘Exit’) which would sound much more better with different vocals. Sometimes (‘Portraits Of Decay’) the vocalist shows that he is able to sing in a different way, so hopefully there will be more varied vocals in the future. www.facebook.com/dustbolt, www.napalmrecords.com
