Engravings Of A Gruesome Epitaph

After two great demo releases (re-released as a compilation CD via Konqueror Records in 2009) those fiendish Italy based death mongers deliver their debut full-length and this is truly a great and fresh sounding album. Of course ERODED did not reinvent the old school Death Metal genre but they were very successful in cooking their own meal by using many well known ingredients. I would describe "Engravings Of A Gruesome Epitaph" as early 90s European Death Metal mixed with American Death Metal with a proper Swedish sounding production. "Engravings Of A Gruesome Epitaph" would be very suitable for fans of bands such as GRAVE and MORTA SKULD. In contrast to the countless new hordes of Swedish Death Metal disciples ERODED did not simply clone some DISMEMBER or ENTOMBED riffs. They just adopted the atmosphere and the attitude. And so they create some truly awesome and varied hymns. I especially like the vocals which sound very natural and gloomy. Also worth mentioning is the guitar work. You’ll find some killer riffs and some fine leads and morbid melodies. Well, let’s come to an end: move your ass and get yourself a copy of "Engravings Of A Gruesome Epitaph" now. You won’t regret. I promise!!! www.facebook.com/eroded.death.kommand, www.facebook.com/konquerorrecords
