EXHUMATION
Hymn To Your God
(Dunkelheit Produktionen)
28:42min

Among many EXHUMATION’s plaguing Death / Black Metal underworld this one comes from exotic Indonesia. And that’s probably the only exotic factor about this one. Sometimes label’s PR blurbs really make me laugh, like in this instance. This is how Dunkelheit Produktionen describes it: "Rolling, balanced Death Metal with just about the right amount of melody, anger, concept and great riffing. Always identifiable and with a high level of Independence." I would disagree with the later statement, because quite simply EXHUMATION worships at the VADER altar, but they do it with such conviction and sincerity that it commands respect. The playing level is alright, the riffs are tight and well arranged, the headbanging factor is set to 10, the songs really rage on and never get stale, and the whole album sounds organic and not overproduced, just full on, an aggressive Death / Black Metal scorcher. Actually, out of 7 tracks here, one is a weird keyboard workout (strangely, the title track) and another is the BLASPHEMY cover ‘Ritual’ which sounds way better than the original, so the album really is over before you know it and in this case it is a good thing, because they don’t overstay their welcome and even make me want to play it again. Originally, "Hymn To Your God" was released in 2012, so Dunkelheit is re-releasing it now for a wider audience, meaning, there’s enough buzz about this band to make it available worldwide. I doubt if it makes into top 10 lists worldwide, but for more curious amongst you, it is surely worth checking out and supporting these Indonesian maniacs! http://exhumation.bandcamp.com, www.dunkelheit-produktionen.de
