MONSTROSITY
Screams From Beneath The Surface

Hum… Let’s see… I don’t know where to start… Could a simple mortal like me say something about MONSTROSITY that hasn’t been said already? I don’t think so. I feel that anything I say already rests in the annals of the band’s history. So I don’t have much to contribute really, except that they have returned this 2026 with this new full-length called “Screams From Beneath The Surface”. An album that comes to light on 12″ vinyl and CD under Metal Blade Records and that (as is natural), extrapolates the identity of one of the benchmarks of Death Metal of all time. If you know MONSTROSITY, you already know what to expect. Pure violence. Straightforward Death Metal, with no purpose other than giving us a slap in the face. Right here in the pages of VOICES we have read a lot about these “monsters” and out there we have listened to them with a cold beer in our hands, shaking our heads to the rhythm of their songs. Music without contemplations of any kind. With the characteristic pulse and with a line that keeps the flag high with which we once met the band since that almighty “Imperial Doom”. The consistency of the band throughout the years is, for me, what makes MONSTROSITY greatest. And this album is not (under any circumstances) the exception. When you sit down to listen to it, you know it’s MONSTROSITY. It happened to me with this album. And I must admit that I had lost track of them. But upon listening to this album, the band’s identity became present. The power and authority they have as well. MONSTROSITY is a great band, full of history. Of stories. Of setbacks, of struggle and of victories. And always, of a deep sense of what it does even in moments of change. And that is practically everything to me. Whoever hasn’t heard this new album, should do it. It is full of that which the band always had and has sustained over the years. Long live MONSTROSITY!
