"The Best Of Morgoth" is – as the title already says – a compilation-album with the so-called ‘best’ material of good old MORGOTH. Each release is represented on the first CD by three songs. This way, you can easily hear the big musical evolution the band went through in only seven years… from rather primitive and basic Death Metal (meant in a good way) to a sort of alternative band with some KILLING JOKE – influences. The second CD is probably the most interesting one and offers a lot of material which has never been relased before on CD, more specificly the complete "Pits Of Utumno" demo (really remarkable how the band sounds like old KREATOR here, especially Marc’s vocals sound like Mille in the "Pleasure To Kill" days), three demo versions of songs from "Odium" and "Feel Sorry For The Fanatic" and quite a lot of multi media material (the video-clips of for example ‘Isloated’, ‘Sold Baptism’, ‘Under The Surface’ and ‘Last Laugh’ as well as some bootleg live-recordings). The whole package is finished by a pretty big booklet with a lot of photographs, concert-tickets, lyrics and liner-notes by vocalist Marc Grewe.
