“Day Of Genocide”, the new release from PANZERKRIEG 666 is also self-released. It’s actually astonishing that no label has shown any interest in the Black Metallers so far. Fans of MARDUK’s warlike phase can once again pick this up, as the German band’s fourth EP doesn’t deviate from the path they’ve taken so far. Brutal, blitzkrieg fast and above all straightforward, but cleanly played Black Metal with a slight Death Metal touch is whipped into your face for 18 minutes. The really great vocals, which are powerful and expressive in contrast to many other Black Metal bands, don’t need to hide from genre icons like Gaahl or Legion. Musically, there’s not a great deal of variety, but the band plays the “bludgeon out of the bag” game for the entire playing time. But let’s be honest, anyone who buys an EP from PANZERKRIEG 666 doesn’t want to hear anything else, do they? The musical massacre that the band leaves behind like a battlefield is nevertheless a controlled one and never degenerates into blunt noise, but presents itself musically mature and full of songwriting talent in the chosen steel… er… golden musical cage. Boredom doesn’t come up for a second and after the entire playing time you feel like restarting the thing completely to listen to the insane vocals again, to the sawing guitars and the all-destroying rhythm section. There is not a single weak note on this EP and the lack of innovation is compensated for and enhanced by aggression. Stylistically limited, but really great songwriting. “Day Of Genocide” is simply fun from front to back and impresses with its musical simplicity, which gets to the point perfectly and is convincing in all respects. It takes a real achievement these days to pick up the Black Metal – weary author of these lines with a genre album… PANZERCHRIST 666 manage to do just that, and they’re almost knocking down closed doors for me. Awesome album! https://panzerkrieg666.bandcamp.com, www.facebook.com/panzerkrieg666
